Picking Sebelius would be a disaster for Obama
Recent
reports have confirmed what pro-life analysts have been saying about the administration's pick for Health and Human Services; that Kathleen Sebelius would be a disaster for the Obbama White House. Already slapped with a number of scandals, the choice of Sebelius would put the abortion debate front and center with the American public. Not just the debate in general, but the subject of late term abortions and the
George Tiller criminal trial would be the front page stories coming out of Kansas.
For years Tiller has been able to avoid his dance with destiny and justice, but a recent
decision by the trial judge sets the case for trial.
If Obama wants to have a debate about the Kansas governor's bloody hands in this mess, then the American people are going to
learn a whole lot more about late term abortions than they will ever want to know.
Arhcbishop Chaput speaks the truth
With clarity of purpose and a spirit of resolve, Archbishop Charles Chaput spoke in Canada earlier this week about the failure of believers to stand up for the truth and the need to challenge those who claim to be concerned with children to stop supporting polices that destroy life. a complete copy of the text of his speech can be found
here.
I would recommend it to anyone who knows someone who voted for Obama.
Obama apologist really ties one on
I thought that with the election of Barack Obama I would not have to address the rantings and meanderings of Doug Kmiec, the one time intelligent and now obviously clouded professor of law from Pepperdine. After all his guy won. He confused many and convinced some Catholics that it was "OK" to vote for an extreme pro-abortion politician.
Well, Kmiec's transformation into Obmam/leftist lapdog is complete with his utter nonsense masquerading as an
opinion piece in the latest Time magazine.
I planned to respond and then my friend and colleague attorney Matt Bowman did all the heavy lifting - and much more articulately as well. So I will cut this short, go home and invite you to read Matt's
response. For the record all persons in public life who are called to serve their neighbor by taking a role in government, be it the executive, the legislative, or the judicial, have a duty to protect and defend the Constitution and thus the law. But the law is not law without limits. All law devised by man serves a greater law and that law calls upon all persons to protect and defend innocent human life. Politicians who enact laws, execute laws or interpret laws have a responsibility to recognize this reality or the entire foundation for respecting the law will crumble. Indeed that may be what we have been witnessing in our nation since Roe v. Wade.
It does not matter one's faith or lack thereof. One has an inherent duty to respect the rights of another. The pope in dressing down Nancy Pelosi is more concerned about her salvation than apparently she is. Such it is with one they call Holy Father. He reminds us all that we have a duty to protect and defend innocent human life and oppose such horrors as abortion. Doug Kmiec ought to consider during this Lent and the age old contemplation of the Four Last Things - Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell.
Most Americans do not want overseas funding of abortion
Here is a little slap in the face for the Obama administration. Over 65% of Americans according to a
recent Gallop Poll do not approve of Obama's pro-abortion policies having to do with rescinding the Mexico City Policy and sending American taxpayer dollars overseas to fund pro-abortion extremist groups such as Planned Parenthood.
Too bad that the American people did not pay attention to the pro-life movement when it was trying to tell everyone that the country was about to elect the most radically pro-abortion president in history.
Equally sad that the Republican nominee failed to listen to pro-life advice about making the life and marriage issues a more important part of his campaign.
But then that is what happens when candidates listen to Washington lobby types who have no clue as to what resonates with the American people. Obama could "sound" reasonable on these values issues, even as he was articulating some radical agenda items. The people heard what they wanted to hear.
And then there were the so-called pro-life apologists for Obama, as well as some priests, ministers and others who misrepresented his radical pro-abortion views.
As a result more African American children will die.
More Latino children will die.
And the U.S. will be exporting the culture of death to countries who need help not destruction.
Turn off NBC and tell them why
Many of you know that NBC refused to air and incredibly positive pro-life commercial during the Super Bowl.
The ad, promoted by Catholicvote.org can be seen on Youtube. So what to do?
Here is a modest suggestion. Call the local NBC affiliate and politely tell them that you will no longer be watching any NBC programming. Tell them that you are going to pass the word to everyone you know. Then explain that if the local affiliate will pick up the ad and run it for a week or two during the NBC Nightly News, you will consider that the local folks should not suffer for what the Corporate heads did.
Then follow up with an email to the NBC folks in New York and tell them how bigoted and prejudiced they are against African Americans who face terrible odds just to be born.
Remind them that if they are afraid to show the truth, they are not worth watching.
Then call a few advertisers and tell them that you a re no longer going to watch NBC.
Will it take a little effort? Yes.
And the reason that the effort will be worth it, is because you are speaking out in defense of life.

Pro-abort Daschle should withdraw
Former Senator Tom Daschle is pathetic.
Nominated by Obama to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services, it was disclosed just days before his expected confirmation that he owed the government over $128,0000 in back taxes. Now lets put aside his pro-abortion politics. Ignore the lobby laden fortune his wife made while he was a sitting senator. At a time when the government is broke and cannot manage its own affairs, do we need someone who cannot handle his own situation and pay his taxes when due. As the fellow who voted on all these tax increases over all these years, the least he could do was pay his share. Nor is this some simple oversight. Anyone one of us could give a pass to some simple accounting errors. But given the important post of secretary of HHS, the person should have a clean unblemished record.
What makes it even more sad is the whining that Daschle has done in the media.
Every senator should vote to reject this nomination.
